SecretPants
unfortunately, there's still no hot water.
That's right, the landlord still hasn't fixed the hot water service.
its been 3 weeks now. and yesterday he spilt water from the hot water
tank all over the floor. the carpet is soaked. i don't think he knows
what he's doing, but its fun to watch the drama... yes, life is much
slower here in errington...
Strange, I've been here for one month and one day, so i thought it
would be about time to allay any fears i had been taken hostage by
thirteen rampant and disgruntled deer. They were friendly, i assure
you. I hope you are all well and having fun, enjoying the onset of
winter or summer wherever you may be. Weather report for Errington,
overcast. Pretty much every single day. Back to you Phil in the
studio...
Life in Errington is pretty lazy, i don't have a job and i seem to have
quite a bit of time on my hands, so I nerded it up by creating a blog.
Yes, I've officially taken my first steps to complete nerdism. the
address is http://secretpants.blogspot.com for those pocket protector
wearing folk among you here's the atom feed url:
http://secretpants.blogspot.com/atom.xml
In regards to this blog, it's going to be a place mainly to help me
remember what i get up to. and when i feel like it, i try writing
something to go with the photo's i post, but generally it's neither
funny nor entertaining. So far i've posted a bunch of photos from the
little excursions we've been making, Englishman River Falls, Seattle,
Victoria - BC, The Back Yard, Glen Iris, McCrae...
I've just finished re-ordering the posts to make them somewhat
coherent, by arranging them by the date in which the events occurred.
very scientific.. you can leave comments on the posts if you like too,
just if you'd like to point out how retarded i may look for instance.
if i like you and or what you wrote i may even respond, if you piss me
off, i'll just delete it, as i have supreme power (palpatine style),
and this is no democracy.
now i guess some of you may be thinking that this is just me being too
lazy to email. well, if you were thinking that, you're pretty correct,
but i'm bored and feel like making a website, and its a more convenient
place to do the stuff i feel like doing. i won't just be posting
pictures there you see. i'm not sure what else but i'm sure something
will come to mind.
I'll still send around an email from time to time, but for those of you
who just can't wait for the next email, you can always hit me up on the
blog and leave a snide remark.
all the best,
lachy.

now i'd never seen one of these before, i want to get one when i retire in a couple of years.. feel free to donate.
'cocoa infusion'

now, i dyed my hair yesterday. it was meant to go on to become a dark brown, but it just kept going... and going and going... until my hair became black. but i've decided i like it, and i'm sure the lay-deez love it too.
now, black hair is quite a big change for me, one that i took very lightly, but i seem to do that a bit (hello canada).. but things always turn out pretty good for me, so i'm not worried, nor should you be. it's kinda cool i think, espcially if your idea of cool is black hair when you wanted brown hair.
do i really look like that?? (click on pic to enlarge)
a deer

this was a happy little deer that was lost in the grass around the house. but he was kinda scared by the bear that was about to eat him which is just out of shot sadly, but is the reason why its running to the right in the photo.
little known nowhere..
we had a map (click pic below to enlarge), a hand drawn map, courtesy of a errington native showing us how to get from where we're living to a secret unknown, enchanted forest lagoon fed from the englishman river... or so we thought.

so off we go looking for this secret wonderland. we find some ribbons which we follow down the track, which becomes a better made track, then leads us down and around the side of the mountain into the little valley below.

hard to see from the picture, but its a tiny little stream i could step across if i were on crutches, running over a couple of stones. but there were two large logs laying across the stream, which lead to a cliff face, so kinda useless and slippery with moss, so we drank a beer and walked back home. many thanks go out to the errington locals for that treasure.
Englishman River Falls

This is Englishman River Falls, we went there one evening to have a wander around at dusk. Above are the falls themselves, nothing particularly awe inspiring here... but very pretty nonetheless. I was just hoping the falls would be bigger, unfortunately you can't see much.

this is the bridge across Englishman River Falls.
forest wall

this is the back of the hostel we stayed at in victoria. kinda nice.
the weakest shade of blue

sitting on the lawn of the legislature building in Victoria.
keep it down in there...

this is part of a mural on the back of the hostel we stayed at in Victoria.
open mic night

keep an eye out for this guy at open mic nights around Victoria, he sits on a box, hits it at random moments, carries around armfuls of lyrics and can make your ears hurt with joy through the majesty of song.
metal night

a bar in Victoria, BC. sadly it was 'metal night' and i had left my mettalica t-shirt at home along with my ankle length jacket and disgusting pony tail and gross skin.
it's dark out there...

in the back yard, messing with camera settings most likely.
pinback

a horrible picture, but the best i took sadly. if you saw the rest you would understand. i just couldn't stay still for long enough to take a proper photo. pinback were playing at Neumos Crystal Ball Reading Room in Seattle, sometime early in June.
dicks...

dicks... we were just passing by, i couldn't help it.
a bar in seattle

this a bar in seattle, its called the comet bar, this where ed lives (on the wall next to the pool table) we came here for quite a few 'what are we gonna do' moments, the kind where you sit there for hours reading the personals section of the local stress press while blushing, giggling and getting drunker by the minute.
ed loves yous guys

ed was looking over us at the comet bar in seattle. he was cool, bought us all a round, he really does love us. the comet bar was the closest bar to where we first dumped the car, so we found ourselves being drawn back here also considering it was just over the road from neumos where pinback were playing. the comet was really good, i reccommend it if you want a few lazy beers before a show... (opens at 1pm).
pool, 2-1, i win!

we played 3 games, i lost the first with white in off the black, then waltzed to victory in the final games, although it was very close in the last game. no one lost their pants unfortunately. next time..
STOP no laughing

a funny signpost at a cafe in seattle. damn vegetarian cafe's don't solve hangovers with 'i can't believe its not bacon' lettuce and tomatoe sandwhiches.
